Education - Glencoe - Oread Institute   3361002
This 180-foot wide structure was the Oread Institute in Glencoe. Built for the School of Dramatic Science at a cost of $90,000, the building was abandoned in 1909. It was demolished in 1940 except for one building that was converted into a private house. The main floor contained a large auditorium with a stage and theatrical equipment. A gymnasium with classrooms, closets and reading rooms were located above the gymnasium.

The Tabernacle at Emory Grove. The Emory Grove campground was founded in 1871 and named for Bishop John Emory of the Methodist Church. The Methodist members of the Emory Grove Association would rent tents on the grounds each summer for religious meetings. The Tabernacle was built in 1900 to replace a main meeting tent set over rough pine board seats. The Baltimore County Union of January 15, 1881, reported that the roofs of both the first tabernacle and the hotel had collapsed on January 10 due to the weight of the snow on the roofs. The financial loss was estimated between $500 and $1000.
