This brick chimney was at the Towson Ice Company at 25 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson. The bricks came from the dismantled chimney at the Phoenix Textile Mill in Phoenix. It was rebuilt in Towson after 1922.

The Towson Ice Company at 25 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson. From the mid-1960s until 1974, the site was used as both the headquarters of the Baltimore County Public Library and the Chesapeake National Bank. After the library operations moved in 1974, the bank took over the whole building, and subsequently returned about half of it to the landlord, Carlton Seitz. This part of the building was then used to house other tenants, such as the Towson Business Association.

At the time of this photo, the ice was manufactured in Baltimore and shipped by streetcar to Towson. The horse drawn wagons seen here were used to deliver the ice to local residents. The Packard truck at the left was purchased to haul ice from the city and also to make home deliveries in the hilly area of Ruxton. This site is now a Subway Shop at the corner or East Chesapeake Avenue and York Road.
