This view of Hampden was taken from a hill overlooking Meadow Mill in Woodberry. At the left across Jones Falls is Druid Mill. Above the mill are the stone parish house, the cemetery and the church of St Mary's Episcopal Church (1873). To the right of St Mary's is Otterbein United Brethren Church (1892)now a United Methodist Church and to the right of Otterbein is St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church (1867). In the park-like setting is Maple Hill, Robert Poole's house. Across the street on Falls Road are Hampden Presbyterian Church (1873) and the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Branch 7 (1900), Roland Avenue and Hampden Hall (1882). Also on Roland Avenue, south of these structures, is the Trinity Reformed Church on 36th Street (1885).
