Description: The Fair of the Iron Horse, showing the evolution of the locomotive, took place in Halethorpe during September 27 to October 26 of 1927. The fair was staged by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad to celebrate its centenary. In this view, crowds are milling around the exhibition trackage in the center of the photo. The grandstand with a canvas cover is visible on the left. It was 1,000 feet long and seated more than 12,000 persons. On the right is a two-story frame building.
