Description: The Fair of the Iron Horse, showing the evolution of the locomotive, took place in Halethorpe during September 27 – October 26 of 1927. The fair was staged by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad to celebrate its centenary. Seen in this photo is a vintage locomotive. The grandstand with a canvas cover is visible in the background. It was 1,000 feet long and seated more than 12,000 persons.
