TOPIC: Bridges, Tunnels - Thomas Viaduct

Description: The Thomas Viaduct of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad in Relay, Maryland. A locomotive is passing over the viaduct from the Baltimore County to Howard County side. The B&O Viaduct Hotel I, constructed between 1872 and 1873, can be seen in the upper right distance. Hockley's grist mill is in the right foreground on the Howard County side, with a covered inclined chute or steps leading from it to the B&O tracks. Photo was taked before the Hockley Mill burned on October 26, 1883.
